School Law Enforcement Presence

Law Enforcement Officer:

-Provide safety and security for the school campuses.
-Assist the school administration in maintaining a safe and secure environment through threat management and threat assessment.
-Provide a highly visible presence to deter or identify trespassers on campus.
-Act as a resource to prevent delinquency and truancy.
-Investigate and provide enforcement of all appropriate state statutes and city ordinances.
-Demonstrate the concern of the Howard County Sheriff’s Office for youth.
-Assist guidance counselors with conflict mediation efforts.
-Assist parents in dealing with modern day issues and concerns.

Law enforcement shall have no responsibility concerning enforcement of school codes of conduct or school administrative decisions involving student misconduct.
